The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) is an international industry association representing publicly regulated securities and derivatives exchanges, central counterparties (CCPs), and central securities depositories (CSDs). Founded in 1961 as the International Federation of Stock Exchanges (Fédération Internationale des Bourses de Valeurs, FIBV), the organization adopted its current name in 2001 to reflect the expanding scope and globalization of financial markets. Headquartered in London, the WFE serves as a global forum for exchange operators, promoting fair, transparent, and efficient capital markets through advocacy, research, and the development of industry standards.

The federation's membership comprises many of the world's leading exchange groups, including the [[New York Stock Exchange]], Nasdaq, London Stock Exchange, Japan Exchange Group, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, Singapore Exchange, and the Korea Exchange, among others. Collectively, WFE members account for the vast majority of global listed companies, equity market capitalization, and exchange-traded derivatives activity. The organization publishes statistical reports, market data, and research on topics such as market structure, sustainability, financial regulation, technological innovation, and cybersecurity.

The World Federation of Exchanges engages with international regulatory bodies and standard-setting organizations, including the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Through policy advocacy, educational initiatives, and collaborative research, the federation seeks to strengthen market resilience, improve investor confidence, and support the continued development of transparent, accessible, and well-regulated global capital markets.
