The Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) was a South Korean derivatives exchange established in 1999 to facilitate the trading of financial and commodity futures and options. Headquartered in Busan, KOFEX was created as part of South Korea's efforts to modernize its financial markets following the 1997 Asian financial crisis. The exchange provided a regulated marketplace for risk management and price discovery through standardized derivatives contracts.

KOFEX initially listed futures and options on instruments such as government bonds, foreign exchange rates, gold, and other financial assets. The exchange played a significant role in expanding South Korea's derivatives market by introducing internationally recognized trading and clearing practices. Its electronic trading infrastructure and centralized clearing system contributed to improved market efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence.

On 27 January 2005, the Korea Futures Exchange merged with the Korea Stock Exchange and the KOSDAQ market operator to form the Korea Exchange (KRX), creating a single integrated securities and derivatives exchange for South Korea. Following the merger, KOFEX's derivatives operations were incorporated into the KRX Derivatives Market, which has since become one of the world's largest markets for equity index derivatives, particularly contracts based on the KOSPI 200 Index.
